Two of the three opening acts at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Rotterdam, has now been revealed.
The opening act of Semi Final 1 has yet to be revealed. Going on previous Contests one would assume, Duncan Laurence, the current champion will be involved.
Semi Final 2 will be opened be Redo – his real name being Redouan Aiit Chit. Eurovision.tv had the following to say:
“Redo was born with several physical malformations. He has a shorter right arm, which lacks an elbow joint, and has a total of 5 fingers – 2 on the right hand and 3 on the left. He is also missing his right hip, has a shorter right leg, and walks with the aid of a prosthetic. Despite these complications, Redo never allowed his situation to negatively affect his life. We would like to show Dutch talent in all its facets. Redo’s enormous talent and story fit perfectly with the inclusivity and diversity of this year’s contest and the theme Open Up!”
The Grand Final will see a far shorter Flag Parade. While the parade will be present, it will be shorter than in previous Contests. This will allow the Contest to starter sooner than in previous Contests – a general complaint amongst fans.
