‘Is it Right’ that ‘Black Smoke’ didn’t make a ‘Glorious’ impact on the Eurovision scoreboard? Answers on a postcard to the new head of the German Delegation Carola Conze.
Carola Conze spoke to Eurovision.de about her new post and what initial changes there can be in store for the German Eurovision 2016 selection.
Conze is a highly successful Executive Producer responsible for major TV events in Germany – “The Dome”, “Bravo Super Show” and “Top of the Pops”.
First change is that the ‘Club Concert’ round that sees the shortlisted singers from the Wild Card selection perform (the winner of which goes to the Live German National Show) is being removed. It is not yet decided if there will be a Wild Card selection process for 2016.
When asked about seeking well established acts to enter Eurovision – like Helene Fischer – Conze admitted that it would be a positive but admitted that some successful acts just don’t want to enter.
There will be more details to follow about the format of the German National Selection. Let’s hope that all the contestants next year really want to go to the contest and don’t turn down the offer live on stage – Remember Last Year – Oops!
