RTE (Irish National Broadcaster) announced their Autumn/Winter tv schedule and there was one programme that caught our attention – ‘What’s Another Year – The Shay Healy Story’.

Shay Healy is the composer of the first Eurovision win for Johnny Logan back in 1980. ‘What’s Another Year’ gave Ireland its second win at the contest and was a massive international hit for Logan and Shay Healy.

“Over a career that’s spanned five decades, songwriter, broadcaster, journalist, author, documentary director and raconteur Shay Healy has added greatly to the gaiety of the nation. In this one-hour documentary Shay, along with friends, colleagues and family members, looks back on a long, distinguished and occasionally turbulent life and times.”

Shay Healy still remains a Eurovision devote and was a mentor in the 2013 Irish National Selection with the band Inchequin and the song ‘Son Kez’ that was a mixture of Irish and Turkish artists.

We will of course bring you the viewing details for the show when they are announced but this surely will be an interesting documentary and will no doubt have a strong Eurovision flavour to it.
