Austria – Eurovision winner wants the 2015 contest to be held in the capital city of Vienna. When you are the Eurovision winner then your point of view holds some gravitas!
Austria’s first Eurovision winner Udo Jürgens was speaking to Krone.at about where he believes the Eurovision 2015 Song Contest should be held. Speaking, the 1966 winner of the contest said

“Graz is a wonderful city, Innsbruck would do it well but the world….expects it to be Vienna”
The singer won the contest in 1966 for Austria with the song ‘Merci Cherie’ and ranks it as
“The happiest moment in his life”
Would he like to be involved at the 2015 contest? “Yes” was his answer. He also went on to say that he would like to sing with this year’s Eurovision Winner Conchita Wurst but says that nothing has been asked of him yet.
When asked about what he thought of Conchita Wurst winning Eurovision he said
“It was an absolutely wonderful song and well sung – from the technical side, two pluses.”
Jürgens said that Wurst had gone a long way to standing up against the oppression of Russia’s President Putin and made people remember that
“the freedom of the individual is not available anywhere”
Udo Jürgens will celebrate his 80th birthday in September of this year and remains highly successful in Austria. He scored several International hit records for himself and others and has sold over 100 million records to date!
Will Jürgens get his wish and see Eurovision 2015 in Vienna?

I would be very surprised if it wasn’t held in Vienna. Udo is correct. Vienna is what most people are expecting as, let’s face it, most people aren’t going to want to schlep from Vienna, if they fly in there, to Innsbruck or Graz.
Vienna would be great for the 2015 contest Michelle.
Eurovision 2011 wasn’t held in Germany’s capital City Berlin, where it “should have been” or would have been expected of Germany, but in DÜSSELDORF. Hello? Düsseldorf? Finding a free venue meeting the expectations of ESC in Berlin would be just as difficult as in Vienna. So I wish them luck if this indeed is what the world expects of them.
Where do you think it might be held Dewayne?
