Last night the BBC launched their “Children In Need” campaign for 2013 with the screening of the “Children In Need Rocks Concert” organised by Take That star Gary Barlow. Today’s media coverage centers around the appearance and performance of Eurovision Legend Agnetha Faltskog.
The ABBA star was one of the big surprise guests at the show. Her first UK live performance in over 25 years and the media and twitter were taken with her humble performance of “I Should Have Followed You Home”.
The inclusion of Agnetha seems to have eclipsed other artists present both young and old, as the media are concentrating on her appearance. Other names presented ranged from Little Mix, The Wanted to Barry Manilow and ELO.
During the broadcast of the show last night Agnetha was trending on Twitter in the UK and Ireland – with the most popular tweet being “#OMG it’s #Agnetha!“. I know we tweeted “#ChildrenInNeed Agnetha Official was #ABBASolutely #FANTASTIC”
The BBC have released the official video of the performance
On the back of their performance – “I Should Have Followed You Home”, downloads of the song have risen in the UK’s “Pop” charts into the Top 40. Again this raises speculation of an ABBA celebration of their 40th Anniversary of winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.
What did you make of Agnetha’s performance last night? Let us know

Unbelievable! Never thought it could or would have happened?
ABBA getting back? Never say never! But if it happens heres one person who will not be getting a ticket?
These tickets would be the hottest thing eBay had ever seen.
I will just settle for the DVD 😦

I think I might sell my house for a ticket to a reunion concert. It would be amazing to see them at least sing one song together again
Gary and Agnetha were/are brilliant!
We agree Jean – They were amazing! We hope to see Agnetha perform live again
Fantastic. Was great to see her back with a new album-this was the icing on the cake. 🙂
We agree Andy. Her new album “A” is amazing
Gary Barlow and Agnetha Faltskog’s duet “I Should Have Followed You Home” was the highlight of a spectacular show for me & to think both Gary & Agnetha nearly didn’t return to the stage. So glad Gary helped give Agnetha the confidence to get back & perform live. There’s “nobody else” more qualified to give advice & encouragement about this than Gary. He thought he would never perform live on the stage again. Look what’s happened since!

Well said Norma. It was the highlight of the show. Agnetha really relaxed into the performance as it went on. She is a LEGEND! Love their song too
