According to RSVP and The Irish Daily Mail who spoke with Ryan’s Manager (Conor Mulhall) – Irish Eurovision Singer Ryan Dolan received “suspicious packages” hours before he was to perform at the Jury Final Dress Rehearsal for the Grand Final. The normal routine for the Irish Delegation was to arrive at the Malmo Arena slightly early so they could collect the countless bags of fan mail that arriving for Ryan and the team – before they began rehearsals.

It is now emerging that on Friday May 17th, before the Jury Voting Dress Rehearsal – the arena police took Ryan and the team into a secured area and advised them that 3 suspicious packages arrived for Ryan. The Swedish Police were called in and x-rayed the parcels. They deemed them to be of a dangerous nature and had them removed and destroyed. The Irish teal were allegedly put into lock down for their safety while checks were carried out around the arena.

Despite having this additional pressure placed on the Irish team they went out and put in a flawless performance in the Jury Voting Final – a testament to their professionalism. You never know what is going on in the background of such a huge live event.

Would you have been able to keep your nerve after getting that news moments before going on stage?
