Former Eurovision Winning singer Jay Aston – of Bucks Fizz fame – will be auditioning tonight on the BBC1 show “The Voice” of the UK. Aston was a member of the 1981 Eurovision Winning band Bucks Fizz from the United Kingdom, who won the Eurovision with the song “Making Your Mind Up”.

Bucks Fizz went on to massive European Success and several number  1’s. However following a coach accident – Aston decided to leave the band and was replaced by Shelly Preston. Aston though feels that she has more still to give to her music career – hence her participation on “The Voice”

“I’m trying to pick up where I lost something out. And I guess there’s a bit of me that still wants to be heard.I could just end my career in 90 seconds or I could restart it – it’s that simple. Now I feel like I’m 100 times better than I used to be then but nobody hears me.”

Also auditioning on tonight’s show will be former Hearsay member – Danny Foster. The show will be broadcast on BBC1 at 8:05 pm (GMT). Will Aston revive her career? Stay tuned.

  1. Nice to see her but it wasn’t a great audition. I quite liked the Original Bucksfizz tour where they sang their hits with a jazz/swing feel. It worked quite well. Happy Birthday Jay.
