Switzerland – Oh I might just have to eat my words!!

Yes as each country comes onto the stage they are announced in the press centre so we can make the short dash to the stage. We all looked strange when we heard the words “Swederland are now on stage” – Is that a duet with Sweden and Switzerland? Well who ever it is – Switzerland surprised me!

• The Eurovision Song – This is a pop/rock song in the style of the Australian band “Savage Garden” Vocally sounding much better than their national final.

• The Singer:  Great punch in Gabriel‘s voice which didn’t falter at all in the rehearsals.

• The Band: His brother was strong on the guitar as were the other members of the band. The brothers are working well off each other and really have added 20% to their stage presence.

• Staging/ Performance/ Routine – This song really benefits from being performed in the big arena. Well this for me was the best use of the high-tech stage that is here in Baku. A dark stage that then has a massive explosion of angular lines which is dramatic.

Euovision 2012 Predictions

This has been the surprise of the day for me

A good pop/rock song sung very well and utilising the amazing stage here in Baku. This has gone from having no chance in my eyes to a potential qualifier. Well done “Swederland”.
