SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, have revealed the second inductee of the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame, during heat five, yesterday evening, in Sundsvall.
Wearing a pair of turquoise boots and a knee-length dress, the expressive af Ugglas staged this superb soul classic in a unique way. Her ballad prayer not to be abandoned both caresses and tears and almost gave her victory in 2009. No Swede today can repeat the word “please” one more time without starting to sing along to Caroline’s classic. Caroline af Ugglas had the following to say:
“I was so incredibly happy when I got the call that “Snälla snälla” had been selected for the Hall of Fame. And as if that weren’t enough, it feels even more fun to come to Sundsvall and be part of the party! It’s going to be so much fun, I love Melodifestivalen.”
Christer Björkman, honorary Chairman of the Hall of Fame committee, had the following to say:
“Caroline stepped in with a brilliance unlike any other. With her distinctive and unique style, she showed that there is room for the unexpected even on the Melodifestivalen stage.”
