Do you often wonder why some countries haven’t won the top prize in our favourite TV show more often? Those countries with, perhaps, only one win, but have maybe deserved a second. Or third. Or fourth?

Our friends in Finland have only one win, and that was 20 years ago. Their songs of often fan favourites, whether they date from their début, right up to today. In Basel, today’s birthday girl Erika Susanna Vikman pushed boundaries with a stage show that raised more than a few eyebrows. Hers wasn’t the only near the knuckle performance, but it was the one that did the best. Well, there are not many people who could carry off such a bit microphone. Or singing German with a Finnish accent.
