
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s February 9th:
Monday 9th February 1974
On this day in 1974, the 14th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. ABBA took victory with “Waterloo” and 302 points. At the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, ABBA finished 1st, with 24 points.
