ARD, the German national broadcaster, threatened to withdraw from the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel.

ARD has been revealed as threatening the EBU with withdrawing from the 2025 Contest, if they excluded the Israeli broadcaster KAN, from participating. Journalist Dr. Martin Gak, had the following to say to Cumhuriyet:

“Germany is an important member of the EBU. While several broadcasters sat at the table demanding Israel’s expulsion, the Germans stated that if Israel’s participation was suspended, they would also withdraw.”
