Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s November 15th:

Saturday 15th November 2014

On this day in 2014, the 12th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Marsa, Malta. Italy, Montenegro & Slovenia debuted, while Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus & Serbia all returned. Azerbaijan, Moldova & North Macedonia all withdrew. Italy took victory with Vincenzo Cantiello performing “Tu primo grande amore” and 159 points.

Saturday 15th November 2003

On this day in 2003, the 1st edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Copenhagen, Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Greece, Latvia, Malta, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom all debuted. Croatia took victory with Dino Jelusick performing “Ti si moja prva ljubav” and 134 points.
