RAI, the Italian national broadcaster, has confirmed participation at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Nice. Italy’s confirmation means the Big 5 will be participating altogether for the first time at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

It is unclear how RAI will select the Italian representative, however internal selections have always been used, with the exception of 2015 – when a national selection was held. Last year, RAI promoted the broadcast to RAI 1, however it is unclear if it will be staying on the main channel or if it will be returning to RAI Gulp.
