🇧🇪 #JESC22: Remembering Junior Eurovision 2005

Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the previous editions of the Contest. Today, we celebrate Hasselt 2005.

On Saturday 26th November 2005, the 3rd Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place at the Ethias Arena, in Hasselt, Belgium. The show was hosted by Marcel Vanthilt and Maureen Louys. The Interval Act was provided by Juggler Vladik and María Isabel.

Two countries debuted in Hasselt – Russia and Serbia & Montenegro. They joined Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Latvia, Malta, North Macedonia (then known as FYR Macedonia), Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Cyprus, France, Poland and Switzerland didn’t return for the 2005 edition.

1st Place: Belarus – Ksenia Sitnik, “My vmeste”
