SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, have announced that they will broadcast the American Song Contest. While the Contest will premiere on NBC, on Monday 21st March, SVT will broadcast the Contest in Spring, although a premiere date is yet to be confirmed.

Mikael Österby, SVT Programme Purchaser, had the following to say:

“Now we can confirm that SVT will broadcast the major venture American Song Contest and we are really happy about that. In a divided world, Eurovision’s message to unite people through music feels more important than ever. For over 20 years, the American major producer Ben Silverman has dreamed of transmitting the ESC success to American TV viewers and now it is finally a reality thanks to Christer Björkman, Anders Lenhoff, Peter Settman and Ola Melzig.”
