
Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are participating this year in Rotterdam. Today, we celebrate Czech Republic.
Czech Republic debuted at the Contest in 2007, in Helsinki, Finland. Kabát finished in twenty eighth and last place in the Semi Final, with their entry “Malá dáma”, scoring 1 point.
The most successful entry from Czech Republic was in 2018, when the Contest took place in Lisbon, Portugal, Mikolas Josef finished in sixth place with his entry “Lie to Me”, scoring 281 points. This included two sets of televote twelve points from Austria and Israel.
The most recent Czech entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Benny Cristo was due to represent Czech Republic with his entry “Kemama”.
This year, Czech Republic will be represented by Benny Cristo with his song “Omaga”. Will Benny Cristo take Czech Republic to their first victory?
