
The 2012 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on Saturday 1st December. The event was hosted at Heineken Music Hall by Ewout Genemans and Kim-Lian van der Meij. The top 3 were:
1st: Ukraine – 138 points
2nd: Georgia – 103 points
3rd: Armenia – 98 points
Albania, Azerbaijan and Israel all made their debut at the Contest. Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania and North Macedonia all withdrew from the Contest. This took the number of participating countries to twelve.
So who was awarded the famous 12 points? Eight sets of twelve points were awarded to Ukraine; two sets to Armenia; with one set going to Albania, Georgia and Sweden. A further set of 12 points was awarded to every country by the EBU, to avoid all countries finishing with no points.
