As things stand, Kazakhstan and Kosovo will not be invited to take part in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Associate Members of the European Broadcasting Union have to be invited to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.

ESCXtra received the following statement from the EBU:

“At the present time, there are no plans to invite Kazakhstan or Kosovo to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.”

Khabar Agency, the Kazakh broadcaster, is an Associate Member and has been invited to participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since every year since 2018. RTK, the national broadcaster of Kosovo, is not an Associate Member, however was invited to participate in the 2011 Eurovision Young Dancers.
