In this series from Eurovision Ireland, we will be taking a look at the participating countries and their entries that have avoided the dreaded ‘Nul Points’ in the Grand Final – thanks to just one other participating country. Today we look at Finland.
1968
In 1968, Finland was represented by Kristina Hautala in London. “Fun kello kay” would have been awarded the dreaded Nul Points had it not been for the Norwegian Jury awarding Finland just 1 point. Finland finished joint 16th/last.
1978
In 1978, Finland was represented by Seija Simola in Paris. “Anna rakkaudelle tilaisuus” would have been awarded the dreaded Nul Points had it not been for the Norwegian Jury awarding Finland 2 points. Finland finished joint 18th out of a field of 20.
1988
In 1988, Finland was represented by Boulevard in Dublin. “Nauravat silmat muistetaan” would have been awarded the dreaded Nul Points had it not been for the Israeli Jury awarding Finland 3 points. Finland finished 20th out of a field of 21.
