Cyprus was one of the debuting nations at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest back in 2003. They carried on participating at the Contest until 2004, then they returned in 2006-2009, 2014, 2016 and they withdrew after the 2017 edition. CyBC were responsible for all nine Cypriot participations.
Cyprus’ best placing came in 2004 and 2006, when Marios Tofi and Louis Panagiotou & Christina Christofi placed 8th respectively with their songs “Oneira” and “Agoria koritsia”.
Is there a sign of future participation? Since their withdrawal in 2017, there has been no talk about making a return.
