FRA: Destination Eurovision Final preview
Two shows down, and we’re at the business end of Destination Eurovision 2019. Ten songs have fallen away, and we’re down to eight. One of these will go forward to sing their hearts out in Tel Aviv, and bring to an end of 42 years for a sixth French win.
The eight songs in contention are:
Sylvàn Areg – Allez leur dire
Aysat – Comme une grande
Chimène Badi – Là-haut
Doutson – Sois un bon fils
The Divaz – La voix d’Aretha
Bilal Hassani – Roi
Emmanuel Moire – La promesse
Seemone – Tous les deux
We have a wide variety of styles to pick from, including soul, rap and ballad. Will it be a straight fight between Bilal Hassani and Seemone, who won their respective semi-finals. Or will another performer come through and steal it? Could Chimène Badi or Emmanuel More win? Emmanuel won the televote in his semi-final, ahead of Seemone.
The winner will be chosen by a 50/50 combination of international jury and televoting. This time, ten international jurors will cast their votes in this important show.
The jurors are:
Albania – Rona Nishliu (AL 12)
Belarus – Olga Salamakha
Cyprus – Alex Panayi (CY 95 and 00)
Germany – Christoph Pellander
Ireland – Michael Kealy
Israel – Doron Medalie
Italy – Nicola Calagiore
Russia – Ekaterina Orlova
Spain – Beatriz Luengo
Switzerland – Reto Peritz
We at Eurovision Ireland will be blogging all the action as it unfolds on Saturday night. It’ll be on France 2, TV5Monde and TV5Québec at 2100CET. You can also watch it on the websites.
