
Yesterday, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Eurovision Reference Group and RTP – the Portuguese broadcaster, met for a debrief after this year’s Contest. Today, KAN, the Israeli broadcaster met with the EBU and the Reference Group to set out a timescale of events in preparation for next year’s Contest. Earlier today, the EBU sent out a Tweet confirming Israel as the Host and putting to bed the many rumours from the last month or so.

Some brief news was also given in regards to the Host City and Official Dates. Cities will be allowed to bid to Host the event like every other year. The Host City, along with the Official Dates will be made public by September. Bids are expected to come from Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Eilat, Haifa and Petah Tikva.
Israel won the right to host next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, after Netta took victory in Lisbon.
