It is a while since we’ve brought you any news on this year’s Eurovision Young Musicians – to be held in the Scottish city of Edinburgh. Today we round up all the news from this year’s participating countries.
Albania
Fourteen semi finalist have been selected, who will then be reduced down to six for the final of Albania Young Musicians – a date is still to be confirmed.
Belgium
RTBF, the Belgian broadcaster will be making an internal selection this year. A date for the announcement of their entrant is however, yet to be announced.
Croatia
Jan Tominić will represent Croatia after winning the national selection.
Czech Republic
We are awaiting news on the Czech Republic.
Estonia
Tanel-Eiko Novikov will represent Estonia after winning the Eesti Rahvusringhäälingu Award, as well as been the overall winner of Klassikatähtede.
Germany
WDR, the German broadcaster will be making an internal selection this year. An announcement of who they are sending to Edinburgh will be hopefully made in the second half of May.
Greece
We are awaiting news on Greece.
Hungary
We are awaiting news on Hungary.
Israel
We are awaiting news on Israel.
Malta
Submissions for the Maltese national selection are still open until 30th April. The national selection will take place between the second half of May and the first half of June.
Norway
Birgitta Elisa Oftestad will represent Norway after winning their national selection – Virtuos.
Poland
Marta Chlebicka will represent Poland after winning Mlody Muzyk Roku.
Russia
We are awaiting news on Russia.
San Marino
San Marino RTV have internally selected Francesco Stefanelli again to represent them at the Contest for a second consecutive time.
Slovenia
Nikola Pajanović will represnt Slovenia after winning the national selection.
Spain
As we reported HERE earlier this year, Sara Valencia after winning Clásicos y Reverentes.
Sweden
Sweden have confirmed Johanna Under Ljung as their representative, after winning Polstjärnepriset earlier in the year.
United Kingdom
BBC Young Musicians started two Friday’s ago. It is currently unclear whether or not the overall winner will represent the home nation in Edinburgh. We will start coverage of BBC Young Musicians this week.

The Semi Finals will take place at The Studio, while the Final will take place at Usher Hall. The Eurovision Young Musicians is in partnership with this year’s Edinburgh International Festival.
