#ROMANIA – 84 SONGS SUBMITTED TO SELECTIA NATIONALA 2017

eurovvvThe wait is over! Over 80 artists are in the race for representing Romania at Eurovision 2017

TVR announced today that 84 songs were submitted to compete in this year’s national selection.

Local celebrities, such as Lora, Mihai Trăistariu, Florin Chilian, Maxim, Joan and Distinto, Tavi Colen and Emma, Tudor Turcu, Nora Denes, Cristina Vasiu, Teodora Dinu or Ramona nerra, and foreign composers – Swedish, British and American – hope to represent Romania at Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv this May.

Like last year,  participants whose files do not meet all the conditions of the Regulation  have two days to complete the missing documents.

For the first time in Romania’s Selectia Nationala the jury will decide the semifinalist in a Tv show. The artists will perform their  songs in  TVR studios- mandatory condition for participation in the competition – Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday, January 29th, in front of the jury and guests to assist them in the audience.

The best performance of Romania in Eurovision is third  place –  twice: Luminita Anghel & Sistem – Kiev, 2005; Paula Seling and Ovi – Oslo, 2010 and fourth place once with Mihai Trăistariu – Athens 2006 .

The highest score Romania obtained in the Eurovision final  is 172 points with the song  Tornero, composed by  Eduard  Cîrcotă and performed by  Mihai Trăistariu.
