12 Melodifestivalen Final Running Order

SWEDEN : Melodifestivalen Final running order announced BUT it confuses us!

Ok well it doesn’t take a lot for me to get confused but I am. SVT announced the running order of next Saturday’s grand final of Melodifestivalen following the results from Andra Chansen last night.

12 songs will contest the final which should make for an interesting show.

Running Order

Samir & Viktor – Groupie
JTR – Building it up
Dinah Nah – Make me La la la
Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Jag är fri (Manne Leam Frijje)
Jessica Andersson – Can’t hurt me now
Måns Zelmerlöw – Heroes
Linus Svenning – Forever starts today
Isa – Don’t stop
Magnus Carlsson – Möt mig i gamla stan
Eric Saade – Sting
Mariette – Don’t stop believing
Hasse Andersson – Guld och gröna skogar

Now here is why we are confused. Why would you put your 2 hot favourites performing very close together and at the start of the show? Jon Henrik Fjällgren and Måns Zelmerlöw are the 2 favourites. They have both stormed the Swedish Charts with their songs yet they will be in the first half of the draw and close to each other.

Meanwhile former winner Eric Saade has been given a great slot #10 towards the end – good for him. With 3 slow/midtempo songs in the mainly pop/schlager dominated final who wouldn’t you disperse them throughout the final?

Jon Henrik Fjällgren and Jessica Andersson are back to back in position 4 and 5 and then Mariette is second last in position 11. It just seems like an odd running order where most Melodifestivalen’s you see the logic and variety in the songs a lot more clearly.

What do you think? Does the running order seen strange to you? How would you have arranged the final?

Let us know.

  1. Yes, it’s a weird running order. But Christer Björkman (show runner) said he wanted it to be “surprising”. That’s an actual quote. I don’t know what he’s thinking. :)
