Denmark -Tonight Denmark will select the song that will represent them at Eurovision 2015. The Melodi Grand Prix 2015 Grand Final begins at 20:00 CET and you can follow our LIVE BLOG HERE
The Dansk Melodi Grand Prix takes place at the Gigantium Arena in Aalborg so why don’t you #JoinUs (good to be green and recycle even the hashtags) tonight where you will be in the hands of Andrew.
You know the frill by now. Just refresh the page for Andrew’s comments on the songs and be sure to tell him if you disagree with him (we all usually do)!
Voting
This year sees the return of the regional juries who will make up 50% of the vote. The juries will be in Copenhagen, Næstved, Vejlie, Århus and Aalborg. Juries will award 290 points and then like in Melodifestivalen the public’s SMS votes will be trabslated into percentages and ultimately votes.
How Can I watch the show?
If you are outside of Denmark then you will have to tune into the official website of DR and you will get a live feed.

Welcome to the show and the Melodi Grand Prix live from Denmark. Andrew james Main here to give you my thoughts on the song and who has the best chance of going to Vienna.
Song 1 – Love Me Love Me (wildcard)
Artist: Sara Sukurani
Music & Lyrics: Sara Sukurani, Robert Uhlmann, Arash Labaf & Alexander Papaconstantinou
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
So we move quickly into the first song of the night. Partly written by Arash of previous Eurovision fame with Azerbaijan. This has a distinctly upbeat eastern feel to it. Sara is surrounded by a troupe of dancers and some of her vocals are ok but some also a bit off key. A decent song to start the show but not one for Vienna methinks.
Song 2 – Mi Amore
Artist: Tina & René
Music & Lyrics: Thomas G:son & Henrik Sethsson
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
Ok so we have another Lord G:son song here which is almost identical to Chanee and N’evergreen from a few years back. Tina and Rene are in good voice and certainly work well together. The song is instant and catchy and would not look out of place at Eurovision. Woa they almost kissed at the end. This may do alright tonight you know.
Song 3 – Når veje krydses
Artist: Marcel & Soulman Group
Music & Lyrics: Marcel Gbekle, Jeanette Christiansen & Bjarne List Nissen
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
Something a bit different now for this song. A bit of uptown funk/mowtown feel to the song. It is sung well for the genre and would certainly be a welcome departure for Denmark to send something like this. But I feel it does not have the power and the sparkle to shine at Eurovision. Oh and I didn’t like the end as it was a bit all over the place.
Song 4 – Hotel A
Artist: Cecilie Alexandra
Music & Lyrics: Bobby Ljunggreen, Marcos Ubeda & Kristian Lagerström
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
After a bit of a slow start this song kicks into a very pleasant back beat. This is sweet and catchy. It is simple too and has a certain charm about it. I think it may stand an outside chance to do well tonight. A job well done tonight from Cecilie.
Song 5 – Love is Love
Artist: Andy Roda
Music & Lyrics: Andy Roda & Maria H. Jensen
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
The first male pop song starts slowly but soon kicks into a heavy funky beat. Andy is singing this well and its coming across well on the screen. This is instant and catchy and a serious contender for Vienna. Should make the top3 I would think.
Song 6 – Tæt på mine drømme
Artist: Julie Bjerre
Music & Lyrics: Maia Daniella Andersen, Jakob Schack Glæsner & Lise Cabble
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
Now we move onto girlie pop music. I believe this song was part written by the author of Only Teardrops. A totally different style of song for sure its a midtempo pop song and has some good sounds in it. The singer makes a good job of the whole performance and another charming pop song. May do alright.
Song 7 – The Way You Are
Artist: Anti Social Media
Lyrics: Remee S. Jackman, Music: Remee S. Jackman and Chief 1, produced by: Lars ”Chief 1” Pedersen
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
A good contemporary pop song from a pretty boyband group with 2 female backing singers. This is different again and in a good way. Its good pop and sung well. It stands out from the crowd and could do well tonight if the Danes want something a bit more modern but still catchy. This got the best reaction of the night so far. Another contender.
Song 8 – Suitcase
Artist: Anne Gadegaard
Music & Lyrics: Micky Skeel & Magnus Funemyr
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
Another former JESC entrant tries to go to big Eurovision. This song is lacking something when she sings the verses in her lower register but when it hits the chorus it really picks up big style. A very easy catchy song to listen to and could do really well to in Vienna. It actually ticks so many boxes for Eurovision and would be surprised if it does not do really well tonight.
Song 9 – Manjana
Artist: Babou
Music & Lyrics: Lasse Lindorff, Daniel Rothmann, Thomas Sardorf, Karen Rosenberg, Nicolas Rebscher, Matthias Zürkler & Johannes Loefller
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
Another catchy contemporary pop song comes along now and this has a good beat and feel to it. Really funky and well performed. Another contender. Denmark are going to have a difficult task choosing tonight from so many uptempo pop song with catchy rhythms.
Song 10 – Summer Without You
Artist: World of Girls
Music & Lyrics: Martin Fliegenschmidt, Rune Braager & Daniel Calvin Østergaard
ANDREW’S COMMENTS
To end tonights show girl power comes to Denmark and this is another extremely catchy pop song. Its sung well and in tune and may stand out for being on last. What a really hard choice tonight as this could also do well.
Andrews’s Predictions
Well 10 songs have been performed and I have not got a clue who is going to Vienna right now. Of all the song I would say 8 are in with a shout, so that narrows it down slightly. But I will stick my neck out and predict the top three as
Suitcase, Manjana and The Way You Are.
The ones that are just missing out are Summer Without You and Love is Love
Actual Results
Hotel A gets first jury 12 points. The way You are gets 2nd 12 points and the 3rd 12 points too and the 4th 12 points. The Way you are gets the 5th 12 points too and leads by 16 after that with Hotel A and Suitcase joint 2nd.
So now we wait for the weighted televote to decide the overall and its looking real good for Anti Social Media at this point with The Way You Are.
Suitcase wins the televote but misses out by 6 points to The way You Are.
Anti Social media will go to Vienna for Denmark.
Thank you for following the blog and hope you enjoyed the show.
Good luck to Denmark in Vienna.
