Exclusive : We love Mihai Traistariu here at Eurovision Ireland. He rocked Eurovision 2006 and remains the highest scoring Romanian act at Eurovision with 172 points (though coming fourth – he was robbed I tell you!)

We spoke exclusively to the “Tornerò” singer and asked him if he had any aspirations for Eurovision 2015? He let us into some information about his involvement for Romania and Moldova.

When we asked Mihai if he was going to enter the Romanian national selection for Eurovision 2015? He told Eurovision Ireland

“How should I comment? I receive songs every year, especially from composers from other countries and for the 2015 edition I have started to receive many. They are not the bomb so … I wait “THE BOMB”! If it does not appear, I’m going to try to compose it myself.”

However Mihai let us into some news about his involvement in the Moldovan National selection for Eurovision 2015 telling us

“For the moment I think I’m going to be a member of the jury for the National Selection for Eurovision in Moldova.”

We will keep you up to date with more news on Mihai and his Eurovision 2015 journey.

  1. Romania came 3rd in 2010 and 12th in 2014 with the same artists. A more shocking fate befell Bulgaria in 2013 when they didn’t even qualify for the final after 5th place in 2007 with Elitsa and Stoyan. Granted both Paula/Ovi’s and Elitsa/Stoyan had brutal songs compared to their first times out. But I’m not sure if Mihai Triastariu should go to Vienna with the fear of serious rejection. Obviously it’s the song that matters as opposed to trends in the Eurovision Song Contest. So if Mihai has a good enough song, well then I have no problem with him representing Romania/Moldova in Eurovision 2015. 🙂 🙂 🙂
