Iceland will again select their song for Eurovision 2014 through the contest Söngvakeppnin. 10 acts have been announced who will compete in the 2 semi finals. Jury and Public vote will decide the eventual top 2 songs in the Grand Final and then the public will have the final say in the “Sing Off” as to what artist will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2014.

The Artists are listed below with the song titles and composers (in brackets)

  • Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir – Amor (Haukur Johnson)
  • Guðbjörg Magnúsdóttir – Aðeins ætluð þér (María Björk Sverrisdóttir, Marcus Frenell, Beatrice Eriksson & Johnny Sanchez)
  • Sverrir Bergmann – Dönsum burtu blús (StopWaitGo)
  • Vignir Snær Vigfússon – Elsku þú (Vignir Snær Vigfússon / Þórunn Erna Clausen)
  • Gréta Mjöll Samúelsdóttir – Eftir eitt lag (Ásta Björg Björgvinsdóttir / Bergrún Íris Sævarsdóttir)
  • Pollapönk (Heiðar Örn Kristjánsson, Haraldur F. Gíslason, Guðni Finnsson and Arnar Gíslason) – Enga fordóma (Heiðar Örn Kristjánsson and Haraldur F. Gíslason)
  • Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir – Lífið kviknar á ný (Karl Olgeir Olgeirsson / Sigríður Eyrún Friðriksdóttir)
  • Guðrún Árný Karlsdóttir – Til þín (Trausti Bjarnason / Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir)
  • Gissur Páll Gissurarson – Von (Jóhann Helgason)
  • F.U.N.K. – Þangað til ég dey (Franz Ploder Ottósson, Pétur Finnbogason and Lárus Örn Arnarsson)

Iceland qualified for the Grand Final at Eurovision 2013 and placed 17th with the song “Ég á líf” performed by Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson.

  1. Looking forward to hearing StopWaitGo’s tune!!!! I listened to a few of the things they produced & they sound catchy! Seems like an exciting list!
