Hilversum – The Netherlands. This morning at a press conference held by the Dutch National Broadcaster TROSAVROS it was announced that the Dutch Representative for Eurovision 2014 would be Waylon/Ilse DeLange who will now be called “The Common Linnets”
Waylon comes from a Soul/Rock/Pop Background
Ilse DeLange is a country/pop singer
In a crowded studio it was announced that Ilse DeLange/Waylon would fly the flag for the Netherlands at Eurovision 2014. There had been much speculation in the Dutch press in the run up to the announcement.
The announcement was accompanied with a short video of both artists singing and talking of their music. They have performed together before as you can see
According to both singers they have recorded a full album together and it is modern country/pop in style. Parts of it were played at the press conference. Their album was written and recorded in Nashville and they plan to hold a concert in June after the contest
Ilse Delange: “ Waylon and I have known each other since we were both teenagers as ‘rootsy’ music. Since this year, we are working on an album in Nashville as a side project. The Contest was for both of us individually in regularly, but this joint adventure we find both so crazy that we now deal with two. I can not wait until we are together on that stage! If a child was watching the Eurovision Song Contest a fixture in our family, then I feel honored me! “
Waylon: “I b and honored to go on this adventure together with Ilse I already know so long. The Contest is one of the biggest events in the world and to stand there on stage is secretly always been a dream. “
