As of the close of business on Tuesday November 19th – we are still awaiting confirmation from 8 countries. Who are they and what has been their situation up until now?
Armenia
No confirmation on their application to the EBU for participation at Eurovision 2014. Still Sirusho keeps us guessing if she is set to return to the contest.
Azerbaijan
2013’s Eurovision runners-up Azerbaijan, have not made any confirmation of their plans for Eurovision 2014. They are preparing for Junior Eurovision taking place next week. We are confident that they will be in Copenhagen next year.
Greece
We have discussed Greece and their extended deadline for Eurovision application and then their national final plans that we have heard of.
Moldova
Moldova have not made any indication yet as to their plans for Eurovision 2014.
Poland
We had heard that Poland maybe considering a return to Eurovision following their successful hosting of the Eurovision Young Dancers Contest this year. Official confirmation has not been communicated as of yet.
Romania
Rumors say that Romania were withdrawing yet we have been advised that they will most likely be at Eurovision 2014.
Serbia
Speculation if Serbia would be in a financial position to enter Eurovision 2014 have been in circulation for some time. However there appears to be signs on their official website that they maybe preparing to apply for participation.
Slovenia
Sources have said to us here at Eurovision Ireland that the delay in any acknowledgement from Slovenia has been due to their National Broadcaster awaiting the appointment of a new director of “Entertainment Programming” – who has budget control over shows like Eurovision etc.

The official deadline for applications for entry to Eurovision 2014 is November 22nd yet the final deadline for Broadcasters to withdraw from the contest with no financial penalties is December 15th.
