Danny Saucedo has been runner-up at Melodifestivalen twice now – 2011 and 2012. In 2012 he was second to Loreen with the song “Amazing”. Amazing was a big production of a dance track.
However recently he performed a ballad version of the song called “Amazing – The Wedding Version” for the royal family in Sweden. This version is rearranged and goes from a dance track to a powerful ballad. With the introduction of a 5 piece gospel choir, the song is raised to a far more emotional song where the lyrics are more sincere. See for yourself.
If he had sung this version at Melodifestivalen then Loreen could have seen herself being runner-up. Compare “The Wedding Version” to the “Dance Version” – far more interesting as a ballad. I am a sucker for a good ballad with a key change!
Which version do you think would have scored higher at Melodifestivalen?
