Eurovision 2013

(RESULT) Germany selects Cascada for Eurovision

untitled (8)

High drama in Germany as the 3 sets of votes come in for their National Selection Final.

The first set of votes came from the week-long Radio votes from the channels across Germany.

The Top 3 were as follows

  1. La BrassBanda – 12 Points
  2. Cascada – 10 Points
  3. Betty Dittrich – 8 points

Then came the Jury vote and this is where it all changed. La BrassBanda only received 1 point from the jury and the top 3 from the jury was

  1. Blitzkidz – 12 Points
  2. Saint Lu – 10 Points
  3. Cascada – 8 Points

So it all came down to the public tele vote and they threw up some surprises

  1. Cascada – 12 Points
  2. La BrassBanda – 10 points
  3. Nica and Joe – 8 points

When all the results were added together the final top 2 were

  1. Cascada – 30 Points
  2. La BrassBanda – 23 Points

So in a show of high quality songs, the amazing Anke hosting the event and a superbly produced show, it will be Cascada flying the German flag in Sweden for Eurovision 2013 – to the surprise of Cascada herself. Below is Cascada’s live performance tonight and their official video for “Glorious”

Tell us what you think of the “Glorious” by Cascada? Will they be victorious at Eurovision?

  1. Not a patch on Norway. The support and votes for Cascada is all based on past history and the many records sold in Europe. I do believe she has never had a NO 1 in Germany. In the German contest Cascada came 2md in the Radio vote, 3rd in the Jury vote and only the public vote (surprise, surprise) saved her. So as i have stated this support is baesd on keen younger music fans who have heard her in Europe and does not reflect a ESC audiance across the whole of Europe and composed of people of all ages and interests. Will not come 1st or 2nd.

    • Good points Neil but don’t you think that the demographic of Eurovision is changing and bringing in a more youthful audience who may like the song? It is happening in Ireland and I am sure the public vote will be big for Cascada here in Ireland – as they have done huge sell out concerts here. It was interesting that the radio and public vote differed

  2. Very Strong song and likely to have charted all around Europe before the contest so a favourite at the mo. Good to see Germany pulling out all the stops.

  3. Hmm…It’s a dance song, AND it’s performed by a really well known act who has charted all over Europe and beyond, AND it’s called “Glorious.” There is simply no way that this is not winning Eurovision.

  4. Such a great song and she is pretty good live too!! I thnk this going to pull top votes from everywhere, I do thnk that Aimee is the way to go for ireland.
