BIRTHDAY: András Kállay-Saunders from Hungary is 34 today Isn’t it always the way that most songs have themes running through them. Falling in love, falling out of love, tributes, those sorts of things. Occasionally, we get a sing that’s a bit darker. Very dark in fact. It has […]
BIRTHDAY: Jaana Pelkonen from Finland is 42 today What’s this? A birthday and it isn’t a singer? Well we like to mix things up a little sometimes. So we’ve picked a presenter. Jaana did her stuff in Finland in 2007. She wasn’t alone – only Swedes do that […]
BIRTHDAY: Gary Lux from Austria is 60 today Legend is a word used way too much these days. Someone can spend three minutes on a stage, sing a song in a mediocre stylee and be given the title ‘legend’. It’s usually accompanied by the line “the real winner […]
BIRTHDAY: Tina Karol from Ukraine is 34 today Who doesn’t love a good thigh-slapper of a song. It’s more than just plain old Schlager. A good old banger that will fill a dance floor, even if the lyric isn’t the most profound in the world. A thigh-slapper with […]

BIRTHDAY: Marian van de Wal from Andorra is 49 today Do you ever wonder why some people from one country end up representing another? There have been some strange alliances built over the years. The one between Latvia and Burkina Faso springs to mind. Look it up if […]
BIRTHDAY: Christie from Greece is 63 today All countries can have their day. And as others have said, anyone can win our favourite TV show. Austria or Portugal are two cases in point, where an indifferent track record has been interrupted by a win. These days, Greece has […]
BIRTHDAY: Lena Philipsson from Sweden is 53 today Control yourselves out there, it’s Sweden! You know the country – soulless furniture, yummy cinnamon-based pastries, oh, and a few successes in our favourite TV show. Admittedly, those Swedes are everywhere at the moment. They write the songs that make […]
