SBS, one of Australia’s national broadcasters, have confirmed their non-participation in Eurovision Asia 2026, in Bangkok.
Following SBS’s confirmation that they will not be participating at the inaugural Eurovision Asia, they gave Aussievision the following statement:
“SBS has long recognised the strong appetite for Eurovision and its unique ability to connect audiences through music and shared cultural moments.
While SBS is not competing in this newly announced Eurovision Asia initiative, we’re pleased to see continued interest in celebrating these kinds of connections across the region and will be watching with interest as it develops.”
It is important to remember, there are other Australian national broadcasters, like ABC, who could still participate in Eurovision Asia.
