Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s February 16th:

Saturday 16th February 1963

On this day in 1963, the 5th edition of Melodifestivalen took place in Stockholm. Monica Zetterlund took victory with “En gång i Stockholm” and unknown total of points. At the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest in London, Monica finished 13th, with 0 points.
