#BIRTHDAY: 13 Feb – Sissal from Denmark is 31

You can’t beat a good fan favourite. The one that gets airplay, and even more airplay, on those Eurovision-related radio stations, and of course at every Eurovision disco.

The songs from 2025 are still obviously in very recent memory, and they probably get played more than others from earlier years. Today’s birthday girl Sissal Jóhanna Norðberg Niclasen, known mononymously (thank goodness), did her stuff for Denmark, but is actually Faroese. It clearly didn’t put the Danish voting public off when they chose her for Basel. Anyway, as it sometimes the case, the fan favourites don’t always cut it with the viewing public on the Saturday night. Let’s just say that all but two of her precious points came from the juries.
