#BIRTHDAY: Mustii from Belgium is 35 today

Would you like to see Belgium win first prize in our favourite TV show soon? As we know, we have to look back nearly 40 years to their only win to date. But as a country that has participated since the year dot, at least they try.

In 2024, it was the turn of Belgium’s French broadcaster RTBF to pick a performer. They chose today’s birthday boy Mustii (né Thomas Michel Mustin, who domestic viewers knew from being a reality show judge. There were high hopes for a good result, and his staging with plus des microphones was a striking sight to behold. And did it pay off? Well televoters in five countries thought so. Unfortunately, televoters in 18 other countries (as well as the rest of the world) thought otherwise. He didn’t get to sing on the Saturday evening, and Belgium’s wait for win Number Two continues.
