
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s April 8th:
Saturday 8th April 1967
On this day in 1967, the 12th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Vienna, Austria. Denmark withdrew from the Contest. The United Kingdom took victory with Sandie Shaw performing “Puppet on a String” and 47 points.
