
Here at Eurovision Ireland, we are taking a historical look back on our favourite Contests past and present, on the very day they took place. Today it’s March 21st:
Saturday 21st March 1970
On this day in 1970, the 15th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Finland, Norway, Portugal & Sweden all withdrew. Ireland took victory with Dana performing “All Kinds of Everything” and 32 points.
Saturday 21st March 1964
On this day in 1964, the 9th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Portugal debuted, while Sweden withdrew. Italy took victory with Gigliola Cinquetti performing “Non ho l’età” and 49 points.
