The Canton of Basel-Stadt have REVEALED the budget that they will be spending on the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Basel and it has now been approved by the Grand Council.

All of the parties represented in the Cantonal Grand Council spoke in favour of funding the contest, with 87 votes for and 4 votes against. While this is good news for the funding of the 2025 Contest, the Federal Democratic Union of Switzerland is currently campaigning to get 2,000 signatures to trigger a referendum on Basel funding the contest. If a referendum is triggered, the public will go to the polls on Sunday 24th November.
