RTCG, the Montenegrin national broadcaster, have confirmed participation at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, in Switzerland.
With RTCG confirming their return for the first time since 2022, they also confirmed Montesong 2024 as their national selection. A spokesperson for RTCG, had the following to say:
“In order to develop and improve musical creativity in the field of popular music, Public Media Service RTCG organises the selection of representatives of Montenegro for the international competition “Eurovision Song Contest 2025.”
Montesong 2024 will be the first national selection held by Montenegro since 2019. For Montesong 2024, the same voting system used in the Eurovision Song Contest final will be implemented – 50% jury votes & 50% public votes. While songwriters don’t have to be a Montenegrin national, the performers of their song submissions do.
Up to 16 entries will be selected for Montesong 2024, however RTCG have reserved the right to revert to an internal selection based on submissions. Song submissions will close on Tuesday 1st October.
