The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has opened up about his city hosting the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Madrid didn’t openly apply as a candidate to host the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, however Madrid worked alongside RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, to shape their host city bid. Madrid has also confirmed that the council will work to put at the disposal of RTVE the necessary means so that the festival can be celebrated at the highest level.
José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the Mayor of Madrid, had the following to say:
“It is great news for the city of Madrid , you just have to look at the audience data that Eurovision has and, therefore, you will understand the positive impact that the celebration of this festival can have for the city of Madrid.
We are also going to collaborate by providing means so that this festival can be celebrated and, at the same time, generating a series of activities in the days before so that both those who come and, above all, the people of Madrid can get involved in this Eurovision Song Contest.”
