🇪🇸 #JESC24: Spain Launches Their National Selection On May 14th

RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, have announced details of their national selection, for the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Madrid.

Artists interested in entering the Spanish national selection, must meet the following criteria:

  • Artists must be aged between 9 and 14 on the date of the Junior Eurovision final (November 16). Thus, participants must have been born between November 17, 2009, and November 16, 2015.
  • Consent from both parents or guardians is mandatory, along with the requested documents (ID, Family Book).
  • Spanish nationality or permanent residency in Spain is required. For group entries, at least 50% of members must meet this criterion.
  • Preferably, registered stage names are recommended.
  • Minors who are first-degree relatives of RTVE staff members or individuals associated with Junior Eurovision are ineligible to participate.
  • If the artist holds a record contract, the company must agree and sign the terms for the use of performance and image rights by RTVE and the EBU.
  • Contestants currently engaged in other competitions or selected to represent another country in Junior Eurovision 2024 are disqualified.
  • Applications failing to meet quality standards or containing inappropriate language, offensive messages, or political content will be rejected.
  • Registered participants must adhere to RTVE regulations regarding the transfer of rights to RTVE and UER if selected as the winner.

Interested artists can fill the online form HERE from 12:00 CEST on Tuesday 14th May, until 23:59 CEST on Wednesday 3rd July. Two videos must also be submitted with the form, showcasing both their singing and acting skills. An in-person casting will take place in mid-July, with a jury having seven days to select the Spanish representative. RTVE will internally select a song that suits the chosen artist’s vocal range.
