Channel One, the Russian national broadcaster and the Russian Ministry of Culture have announced today the Intervision Song Contest is in the planning to return in 2024. The contest will be open to BRIC nations as well as other countries that wish to participate in the contest.

Konstantin Ernst, the Director General of Channel One, had the following to say:

“We propose that in the coming year we hold and hold every year an open music, or rather song, competition under the working title “Intervision”. This competition will not have any political restrictions or influences. This is a free platform on which all countries can present samples of their popular music.”

Olga Lyubimov, the Russian Minister of Culture, had the following to say:

“The Russian Federation, in order to promote the diversity of cultures in a multipolar world, is taking the initiative to launch two new formats of cooperation at once. We propose to create an independent open Eurasian film festival and film award, as well as the Intervision music competition.”
