
In 1993, RTE, the Irish national broadcaster, hosted the 38th Eurovision Song Contest, in Millstreet. The 68th Eurovision Song Contest, in 2024, is set to be the first time since Millstreet that all seven founding participating countries will compete at the same time.
While Ireland took victory for a second year running, it was also the last time all seven founding participating countries took part in the Contest – but how did they finish?
3rd – Switzerland
Annie Cotton took part for Switzerland with the entry “Moi, tout simplement”. While finishing in 3rd place and 148 points, Annie achieved three sets of twelve points from the juries.
4th – France
Patrick Fiori took part for France with the entry “Mama Corsica”. While finishing in 4th place and 121 points, Patrick achieved two sets of twelve points from the juries.
6th – The Netherlands
Ruth Jacott took part for The Netherlands with the entry “Vrede”. While finishing in 6th place and 92 points, Ruth achieved one set of twelve points from the juries.
12th – Italy
Enrico Ruggeri took part for Italy with the entry “Sole d’Europa”. While finishing in 12th place and 45 points, Enrico achieved two sets of ten points from the juries.
18th – Germany
Münchener Freiheit took part for Germany with the entry “Viel zu weit”. While finishing in 18th place and 18 points, Münchener Freiheit achieved one set of eight points from the juries.
20th – Luxembourg
Modern Times took part for Luxembourg with the entry “Donne-moi une chance”. While finishing in 20th place and 11 points, Modern Times achieved one set of ten points from the juries.
25th – Belgium
Barbara took part for Belgium with the entry “Iemand als jij”. While finishing in 25th place and 3 points, Barbara achieved one set of three points from the juries.
