SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has revealed that the voting revenues during Melodifestivalen 2023, will go towards funding Radiohjälpen’s Ukrainian projects. Melodifestivalen first donated their voting revenues for these particular projects during Heat Four last year.
Radiohjälpen supports projects that alleviate distress. The Foundation Radiohjälpen’s urgent collection for Ukraine began shortly after the Russian invasion in February 2022. The public’s commitment was gathered through the voting in the Melodifestivalen, and the concerts Vi spelar för freden at the Konserthuset in Stockholm, and Hela Sverige Skramlar för Ukraina at the Avicii Arena. Thanks to the public’s donations, Radiohjälpen supports the work of ten different partner organisations to alleviate the need. See more about the projects HERE.
Last night during Heat One of Melodifestivalen 2023, 425,813 kronor was raised, which equates to 1,506,313.70 UAH.
