Over the course of November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are taking part at the Contest and their Junior Eurovision story so far. Today, we conclude Portugal’s story.

Joana Almeida represented Portugal at the 2019 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Gliwice, Poland. She participated with “Vem comigo”, finishing in 16th place and 43 points.

After a one year wait, Portugal returned to the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, in Paris, France. Simão Oliveira participated with “O Rapaz”, finishing in 11th place (their best position), with 101 points.
