On Saturday, the 2022 Eurovision Young Musicians will be taking place from Montpellier, in France. On the lead up to the Contest, we will be looking at each of the participating countries. Today we continue with Belgium.

Belgium debuted at the 1986 Eurovision Young Musicians, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rhonny Ventat participated with the Saxophone, however failed to place in the top three.

Belgium have placed third in the Contest twice. Most recently, Marie Hallynck took third place with the Cello, when the 1992 Eurovision Young Musicians took place in Brussels, Belgium.

Belgium last participated at the 2018 Eurovision Young Musicians, in Edinburgh, the United Kingdom. Alexandra Cooreman participated with the Violin, however failed to place in the top three.

Belgium will be represented by Thaïs Defoort on Saturday, when she participates with the Cello in Montpellier.
