
On the lead up to the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which is been held in Turin, we are looking back at the countries participating in the Contest and their histories – past and present. Today we continue with Slovenia’s story.
Slovenia debuted at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, in Millstreet, Ireland. 1X Band participated with “Tih deževen dan”, finishing in 22nd place and 9 points.
Slovenia have never cracked the Top 5. Darja Švajger represented Slovenia at the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest, in Dublin, Ireland. She participated with “Prisluhni mi”, finishing in 7th place and 84 points.
Nuša Derenda represented Slovenia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She participated with “Energy”, finishing in 7th place and 70 points.
Ana Soklič represented Slovenia at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She participated with “Amen”, finishing in 13th place in the Semi Final and 44 points.
LPS will represent Slovenia at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, in Turin, Italy. They will perform “Disko”. Will they take Slovenia’s first victory?
